How can you make me happier?
This is the number one question we're asked by people when we tell them what we do.
The foundation of HAPPIER London is to practice and promote mindfulness, kindness and gratitude, and our response to that question is usually something along the lines of –
Happiness is already inside of you. We can't make you happier. All we can do is help you remove the blocks that hide your innate happiness from you. Yoga and Meditation are proven to remove these blocks so you can start to see clearly and experience more of your authentic happiness. Beyond your mind there is already unlimited peace and joy.
Yoga and Meditation are guaranteed to make you feel happier or better as they expand your awareness beyond yourself whilst also aligning and bringing together all the otherwise separate aspects of yourself. They reunite the parts, restoring the complete ONE.
It’s also worth mentioning that becoming happier involves accepting the whole of life, the good, the bad and the ugly. Happiness comes from awareness. It’s an internal dynamic that need not be tied to external circumstances and situations. Being aware of being unhappy carries with it the joy of accepting life as it is, right here and now.
Yoga tells us the root cause of ALL suffering is identification with the body, rather than with our souls. The primary definition of Yoga as per the Yoga Sutras is -
Yoga is the cessation of thought, when our individual soul is in union with the universal spirit.
The problem for most of us is that we tend to see our made-up realities, looked at through our inaccurate personal lenses of perception, rather than observing life universally as a whole, as it is.
We’re not experiencing happiness, or the abundant happiness that’s available to us, because many blocks have been put in place obscuring us from ourselves and ultimate reality. By identifying with the body and mind you’re bound to experience only a limited degree of happiness because you're ignoring a large part of who you are.
The mind is designed to keep tell us that things are wrong – our highly evolved survival instincts dictate as such.
However, when we identify spiritually we experience true peace. In that realm all is well.
You’re where you’re meant to be right here right now (reading this blog post) and in this moment you have the power to remember and realize who you are and how life is. No stories. No bs. The reality of NOW is NOW.
The universe and all that’s in it is already whole and complete and this includes you. Nothing can be improved, including us, we can just become more of who we are.
Just because you were told you were ugly or stupid when you were 5 doesn’t mean it’s true and you don’t need to wear that label. You can drop it or transform it anytime you want, even now. See it for what it is, non-sense and experience the truth of now and your unlimited power, then you’re be happier.
‘Know Thyself’ - Socrates
When we see ourselves as we are, we experience happiness because that’s our natural state. When we don’t see ourselves as we are, we become naturally dazed and confused, and that blinds us from the happiness that’s already inside of us waiting to be realized.
So the short answer to our most popularly asked question is ‘You’ll be happier when you stop thinking so much and start to experience yourself as you are, in this moment’.
As Sadhguru says, 'We all have the potential to live in blissfulness and inner wellbeing – if only we create the right kind of climate within ourselves'.
Humanity enmass is starting to shift from ego thinking to consciousness and maybe our very survival depends on it. Many individuals are starting to wake up to who they are beyond who they think they are, and in this heightened awareness will start to experience greater peace and joy and less confusion and fear.
